Professional ethics and protocols
I am a fully Certified Sexological Bodyworker, and a Certified Member of the School Of Consent. My training was overseen by Joseph Kramer – the founder of Sexological Bodywork, Body Electric, and the foremost teacher of erotic bodywork in the world, and Betty Martin, the founder of the Wheel Of Consent. My training also includes a number of prominent somatic sexology and embodiment teachers across the world, including Deej Uventin, Uma Ayelet Furman, Caffyn Jesse, Katie Sarra
I am a professional member of the Association of Somatic and Integrative Sexologists (UK) and am fully insured through them.
You can read the ASIS full professional code of ethics here. This covers a wider range of work than Sexological Bodywork, and as such is designed to protect the safety of both client and practitioner.
Some key elements of the code that are worth highlighting include:
- The importance of maintaining and respecting agreed boundaries. Boundaries are to be discussed, agreed and set at the beginning of each session. Maintaining the agreed boundaries also includes stopping touch when clients request it.
- Touch is always done consciously and with the attitude to do no harm, with concern for the client's growth; for the safety of both/all parties; and to honour the agreed boundaries established.
- Sessions will neither fulfil the client or practitioner’s desire for romantic sexual connection, and both parties agree not to have any form of sexual contact outside sessions.
Although I am a Certified Sexological Bodyworker and the majority of my work falls entirely within its protocols, the complex nature of intimacy work means the option for two-way intimate touch may occasionally arise.
Touch of this kind will only happen with full discussion and agreement from both of us, prior to any session commencing, and in a context where your learning is the key component. In this instance the session will not be considered a Sexological Bodywork session but it will fall within the professional code of ASIS
A note about trauma
The body is often a repository for many types of trauma (both high-level and low-level, physical and emotional). Any work which involves the body will therefore have the potential to unlock trauma which may be carried within it, either consciously or unconsciously.
Sexological Bodywork and the Wheel Of Consent are not designed to be a replacement for medical or psychological trauma therapy. If you do seek to work with me specifically around any abuse or serious trauma-related issues (or if memories of this kind of trauma arise during our work together) I may request that our work be carried out in tandem with a qualified psychotherapist or counselling professional, particularly if our work is likely to involve intimate touch.
I am always happy to discuss options for how we may work together if this is the case; your safety is my paramount concern.
Terms & conditions
Please read these terms & conditions carefully before contacting me.
By working with me, you warrant that you are at least 18 years old and accept these terms & conditions. If you are attending coaching with another party, you must also agree to be bound by the agreed terms and conditions with each other.
I will not enter a session under the influence of either alcohol or illegal drugs, and I request the same of you.
I will ask permission to touch, and will stop touch whenever you request it.
Behaviour by you which transgresses any of these conditions may result in the session being immediately terminated. In such a circumstance you will not be refunded for any costs you may have contributed towards the session.
My service is as a professional coach, and the focus of my sessions is about creating safe space for your learning.
Often people who hope initially for an interactive, mutual sexual experience find that keeping the focus on the experience of their own body allows them to access a different and deeper new knowledge of their erotic capacities.
My practice is 100% safe. I wear gloves as appropriate to ensure there is no fluid exchange between us.
All personal information you provide me with is confidential and will not be shared with any third parties.
